Outdoor Bars

A Gathering Spot That Pulls People Outside

The grill draws a crowd, but the bar is where they stay. An outdoor bar gives your guests a place to lean, pour, and talk while you finish cooking, and it turns a patio from a place you visit into a place you host.

We design and build bars as standalone features or as the social anchor of a larger setup. Most of our clients add a bar alongside an full outdoor kitchen, so the two share countertops, utilities, and a single clean run of stone.

Every build is shaped around your space and how you actually entertain: seating for six on a covered patio, a compact pour station beside the pool, or a wraparound island that fits a dozen for game day.

Bar Styles

Four Ways to Build a Backyard Bar

Built-In Bars

A permanent bar tied into your patio or kitchen run, finished in stone or stucco to match the house. Best when you want bar seating, storage, and a dedicated pour zone in one structure.

Bar Islands

A freestanding island with a raised bar top and a lower prep counter. The two-level layout keeps drink-mixing mess away from guests seated at the rail, a favorite for open patios.

Tiki & Covered Bars

A roofed bar with overhead structure for shade, mounted lighting, and weather cover. Great for Colorado, where afternoon sun and a passing storm can both arrive in the same hour.

Poolside Bars

A swim-up or pool-adjacent service station with sealed surfaces and slip-aware decking around it. Keeps drinks and snacks close to the water without dragging everything in and out.

Features

What Goes Into the Bar

The hardware decides how the bar gets used. We size it to your guest count and how often you host, so you are not paying for a kegerator you fill twice a year or short on fridge space every weekend.

  • Countertops
Granite, quartzite, or sealed concrete bar tops with a comfortable overhang for stool seating.
  • Refrigeration
Outdoor-rated under-counter fridges, ice makers, and beverage centers built to run through summer heat.
  • Storage & access doors
Stainless drawers, trash pull-outs, and locking cabinets to keep glassware and tools out of the weather.
  • Bar sinks & plumbing
A dedicated rinse sink with hot and cold lines, plus drainage that winterizes cleanly for Colorado freezes.
  • Keg & tap systems
Built-in kegerators and draft towers, single or multi-tap, with insulated lines for a cold pour.
  • Power & lighting
GFCI outlets for blenders and warmers, plus task and accent lighting wired in during the build.

Want the bar to flow into a cooking zone? We’ll plan it as one project with your outdoor kitchen and run the gas, water, and electrical once.

Materials

Built for Colorado Freeze & Sun

A bar lives outside year-round, so the materials matter more than the finish photos suggest. We choose surfaces that handle UV at altitude and the freeze-thaw swings that crack the wrong stone.

Counters are sealed natural stone or quartzite that resists fading and staining. Cabinet boxes are marine-grade polymer or powder-coated stainless rather than wood, which warps and rots once it gets wet a few seasons running.

Bar bases get the same paver and stone work we use for paver patios, set on a compacted, drained foundation so nothing shifts when the ground heaves in winter.

UV-Stable Surfaces

Stone and finishes that hold color under intense high-altitude sun.

Freeze-Thaw Ready

Foundations and sealants chosen to survive Colorado winters without cracking.

Weatherproof Cabinetry

Polymer and stainless boxes that never warp, rot, or rust through.

Winterizable Plumbing

Sink and tap lines that drain down so a hard freeze never bursts a pipe.

Our Process

From Idea to First Pour

01

Consultation

We walk your space, talk through how you host, and figure out the right size, style, and feature list for your bar.

02

Design

You get detailed plans and 3D renderings showing the layout, finishes, and how the bar connects to the rest of the yard.

03

Build

Our crew sets the foundation, runs utilities, and installs stonework, counters, and appliances to finished detail.

04

Final Walkthrough

We test every tap, sink, and fridge with you, then hand over a bar that's ready for the first round.

Once the build is set, set the mood with outdoor lighting so the bar works as well after sunset as it does at noon.

FAQ

Outdoor Bar Questions

How much does a custom outdoor bar cost?

It depends on size and features. A compact built-in pour station with a sink and a fridge runs less than a full bar island with a kegerator, ice maker, and multi-tap tower. We give you a fixed scope and price after the consultation, so there are no surprises mid-build.

Can the bar connect to an outdoor kitchen?

Yes, and it usually should. Building the bar and kitchen together means we run gas, water, and electrical once and match the stonework across both. If you already have a kitchen, we can tie a new bar into the existing run.

Will the plumbing survive a Colorado winter?

We install bar sinks and tap lines so they drain down for the season. Before the first hard freeze you shut off and blow out the lines, the same routine as an irrigation system, and nothing inside the bar is at risk.

How long does a bar build take?

Most standalone bars are finished within a few weeks of breaking ground, depending on utility runs and material lead times. We give you a real timeline in the design phase and keep you updated as work moves.

Do I need a permit for an outdoor bar?

If the bar includes gas, water, or electrical, your city usually requires permits and inspections. We handle that paperwork and schedule the inspections as part of the project so you don’t have to chase it.
